Obituary for John Kingsley Kerver



JOHN KINGSLEY KERVER passed quickly from this life June 8, 2004. After exceptional service as a B-29 pilot in the U.S. Air Army Air Corps during WWII and a full life, he will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery. Jack married Dorothy Jean Lake in 1945 and together raised a family and home full of the love and llfe . He is survived by his wife Dorothy and his three children, Jim, Karen, & Richard, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. After the war, King graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Masters in Chemical Engineering. He moved to Houston in 1950, joined Humble Oil and retired from Exxon after 30 years. He distinguished himself in oil production research and is a holder of 17 patents. He became a Life Master and Director in the ACBL and directed bridge tournaments on cruise ships. Jack lived life to the fullest. He loved skiing, sunsets, sailing, steak, and salads. There will be a Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Earthman Hunters Creek Chapel, 8303 Katy Freeway (713-465-8900) with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 10, 2004 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church., 11720 Joan Of Arc Dr. The most Reverend Vincent M. Rizzotto will be the celebrant.
